Recipe of the Month

Mchemsho
Tanzanian Mchemsho with Ugali

Our recipe for this month is Mchemsho, a hearty stew that originated in northern Tanzania but is enjoyed throughout the country. Because of the cost and availability of its ingredients in East Africa, it's often enjoyed only on special occasions. However, most of the ingredients can be found in supermarkets here. Mchemsho can be enjoyed at any time of day, even for breakfast!

CD of the Month

Our International Music selection of the month is Zouzou by Grammy-winning international superstar, Dobet Gnahore. Gnahoré takes listeners on powerful musical journey with her highly anticipated new album, Zouzou. This captivating collection of songs is a celebration of Ivoirian rhythms, cultures, and modern sounds that will leave you inspired and uplifted.

Book of the Month

Our International Book of the Month is Flights by Olga Tokarczuk

From the incomparably original Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk, Flights interweaves reflections on travel with an in-depth exploration of the human body, broaching life, death, motion, and migration. Chopin's heart is carried back to Warsaw in secret by his adoring sister. A woman must return to her native Poland in order to poison her terminally ill high school sweetheart, and a young man slowly descends into madness when his wife and child mysteriously vanish during a vacation and just as suddenly reappear.
